Real Opportunity for Community for Kids
Real Opportunity for Community for Kids (R.O.C.K.) is designed around small groups of children in kindergarten through fifth grade connecting with each other in a Christ-like community which helps them grow in their faith journey. Each small group is lead by adults who invest their time and energy into helping children connect with God and others through fun activities, teaching, singing and prayer.
R.O.C.K. meets during the school year following a fall and winter/spring schedule. Each night of R.O.C.K. opens with kids meeting with their small group and small group leaders and the other small groups for a time to play, sing, and learning together. Then with their age-specific small group and leader they meet together to discuss what they learned, pray together, eat a small snack and then either create a craft or play games. At the end of each night of R.O.C.K. a family devotion and memory verse are given to each child and there is a drawing is held for a small gift.
Devotions, Memory Verse and Kid Kash
Family Devotions: Each week kids receive a devotional sheet at the end of R.O.C.K. with 5 devotions that can be done with your child and family. After you and your child have completed the devotions for the week, sign and return the bottom portion and your child will receive credit for Kid Kash.
Memory Verses: On the devotional sheet there is a “Memory Verse” from the Bible. If your child memorized the verse for the week he/she will receive additional credit towards Kid Kash.
Kid Kash: Kids can earn credit towards Kid Kash for weekly attendance at R.O.C.K, memorizing the weekly verses and returning their signed and completed devotion sheets. At the end of the R.O.C.K. semester they can go shopping in the R.O.C.K. Store for prizes for their efforts and, in addition, for the 4th and 5th graders, participate in the Auction.
