Ways to Serve – Locally
Volunteer:

Work in the clothing room , help with furniture delivery or home maintenance projects weekdays/Saturdays 9-12
· Adopt a Project -- looking for individuals or small groups to join in as we work on a local home repair project scheduled for Spring 2009. Contact Donna Battershell bshell@ix.netcom.com
· Garden Hills School –2001 Garden Hills Dr., C
Volunteer in Classroom, help monitor- Book Nook, mentor a child, assist in library, provide snacks for parties Call Janet Roadcap at jsroadcap@yahoo.com
· New Horizon Food Pantry -- provide food or make deliveries contact Mike Mueller mrmueller@landolakes.com
· TIMES Center – 70 E. Washington,C
Prepare or Serve food by contacting them at their volunteer line 239-4637
· Salt & Light 1512 W. Anthony Dr. C ph: 355-5454 or volunteer@salt&lightministry.org Sort clothing & make food boxes
M-F 9am-5pm, 1st Sat 8am-noon, 1st Tuesday 6-8pm
· Faith in Action – a program through Provena Covenant ph: 337-4700 that serves the senior population in the CU area. Assist with household chores, transportation to appointments, yardwork

Collect:
· Boxtops for Education & gently used Books for Garden Hills School (There is a collection box at the Welcome Center)
· Single Size toiletries or Winter hats & gloves are useful for the men at the TIMES Center.
· Recycle empty printer cartridges – empty tomb receives $2 for each cartridge. Put them in designated bin near Welcome Center (office size cartridges are not taken)
· Food items for NH food pantry (current needs listed in program or newsletter)
*Note: the items listed above are collected in bins located
in the hallway between kitchen & restrooms
· Clothing or Household Goods – for Salt & Light, Restoration Urban Ministries or empty tomb ( take these items directly to the ministry)
